COLUMBUS, Ga.- The no.7 Saint Leo women's team defeated no.12 North Georgia on Saturday morning on the road.
North Georgia took the double match point, winning the second and third doubles with a score of 6-4,6-3.
The Lions earned victories in all the single matches.
Marta Vicens Miquel registered a win in flight no.1 with a score of 6-2, 6-1. #40
Kristyna Jurkova won second singles 6-4, 6-4, while
Nina Furmaniak battled in a three-set 6-7, 6-3, 10-8 victory to win flight no.3.
Andrea Ivanovic ultimately sealed the win with a three-set win at flight no.4 with a score of 4-6, 6-2, 7-6.
Madeleine Gauthier won flight no.5 recording a 7-5, 6-1 decision.
Nastasia Jedrychowski won sixth singles 7-6, 6-1.
The Lions return to action on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 11:00 a.m. hosting No.5 Lynn to open Sunshine State Conference play at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.
