SAINT LEO, Fla. – No. 25 Saint Leo women's golf knocked off the first-seeded Princeton Tigers 4-2-0 Thursday afternoon to open up play at the Ball State Sunshine Invitational Match Play event held at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. The Lions were through 12 holes against host Ball State when the second round was halted due to darkness.
 
Saint Leo saw Synne Lauritzen, Isabel Nesteus, Izzy Lawrence and Jasmin Pnaiser win their matchups with the Tigers to take a 4-2 win to open up play. Lauritzen won 4-and-3 where Nesteus finished two-up, Lawrence 2-and-1 and Pnaiser one-up.
 
The Lions were through 12 holes in the second round against the Cardinals of fourth-seeded Ball State where Lauritzen was finished at 7-and-13. When play resumes Friday, Nesteus will start with a lead four-up through 14 as Pnaiser starts four-up through 12. Louise Henningsson is leading her matchup three-up through 13 while Lawrence is leading two-up through 13 and Rose Morissette is leading one-up through 12.
 
The Lions and Cardinals will tee off at 8:30 am before the third and final round will take place. Saint Leo will take on fifth-seed Omaha Mavs to close out play at the Ball State Sunshine Invitational Match Play.
