Saint Leo Inside Top-20 in Learfield Directors' Cup

Lions remain top SSC Institution

CLEVELAND, Ohio – With just one fall championship remaining, Saint Leo athletics concludes scoring points in the fall Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup standings. When the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced the second fall standings in 2019, the Lions fell in at no. 18 out of 152 institutions that have scored points in three fall championships (volleyball, m/w cross country).

Saint Leo is the top Sunshine State Conference school thus far with 161.00 points after adding 73 points (5th place) from the volleyball championships where the Green and Gold finished as national quarterfinalists in Denver, Colo. on Dec. 12. The Lions added their 73 points from volleyball to the 88 it received from cross country, earning 44 from both men's and women's cross country. Both programs traveled to Sacramento, Calif. and placed 30th in their respective races on Nov. 23 at the 2019 NCAA DII Cross Country National Championships.

As the top SSC school, the Lions were joined by nine other institutions where Saint Leo holds a 28 point advantage on Lynn (28, 133.00). Following the Lions and Fighting Knights were (rank, points) Embry-Riddle (33, 117.00), Tampa (39, 101.00), Nova Southeastern (63, 73.00), Barry (73, 64.00), Florida Tech (73, 64.00), Palm Beach Atlantic (73, 64.00), Florida Southern (117, 26.00), and Rollins (120, 25.00).

Colorado School of Mines is atop the leaderboard with 363.00 points, holding off Western Washington (2, 299.00), and Grand Valley State (3, 270.00). Institutions that won national titles in the fall were Adams State (women's cross country), Colorado School of Mines (men's cross country), West Chester (field hockey), Charleston (men's soccer), Grand Valley State (women's soccer), and Cal State San Bernardino (volleyball). 
 
The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) will release the next standings on Dec. 24 with just football remaining to be scored. 
 

The Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
