Patterson Leads Saint Leo at National Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Saint Leo concluded the 2019 season at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex Saturday, Nov. 23. The Lions finished the race in 30th place led by sophomore Paige Patterson

Patterson finished the race in 115th on the 6K course with a time of 21:49.3. Ashley Lindeman finished :0.1 ahead of Sintayehu Vissa where the duo finished 155 and 156th, respectively. Lindeman finished in a time of 22:15.3 ahead of Vissa's 22:15.4. 

Tania Jarreau finished in 175th in a time of 22:28.2 to finish in the middle of the Lions' seven runners. Kathrin Halter (221, 23:09.7), Aofie Mahony (246, 23:48.0), and Amanda Bohm (258, 24:39.2) concluded the Green and Gold on the course. 

Adams State won the team title with 23 points while they had three runners finish 1-2-3 with Stephanie Cotter winning the race in a time of 19:15.5. Sunshine State Conference foe Tampa, finished in 23rd with 567 points. 

The Lions concluded the season with five top-10 placements out of the seven total races of the year with a best finish of first at the Florida Tech Invitational to open the season. Saint Leo capped the season with a second place finish at the Sunshine State Conference Championships before a third place finish at the NCAA DII South Regional.
