SAINT LEO, Fla. – Coming off a season in which the Lions crowned their first individual National Champion, the Saint Leo men's swimming team returns to the pool Friday and Saturday to open the 2019-20 campaign. The Lions enter the season ranked 19
th in the TYR / CSCAA Division II Poll.

The Lions will open the season Friday, November 1 at 3 p.m. as they travel to Sunshine State Conference foe Rollins. The season opening weekend will continue Saturday morning at 11 a.m. as the Lions travel to No. 16 Florida Southern.

The Lions went 5-2 last season in dual meets including two wins over Rollins and a victory over Florida Southern. Saint Leo returns the program's first NCAA National Champion in the form of
Henrik Dahrendorff who took home the 200 breaststroke title a season ago. The senior will look to defend his crown this season while also searching for his first title in the 100 breaststroke.

Other notable returners for the Lions include former CSCAA All-Americans senior
Christian Cioffi, senior
Matija Rafaj, senior
Michael Southward and senior
Luka Vulic. This group will look to lead the Lions to bigger and better accomplishments in 2019-20.

The men also have six talented newcomers who will add to the mix this season including a pair of transfers. Junior
Kosta Mitrovic and senior
Juan Patino join the Lions after competing for the University of Bridgeport last season. The other four newcomers enter the team as freshmen and call New York, Illinois, France and Germany home.
