MELBOURNE, Fla. – For the second time this season, the Saint Leo women's swimming team faced off against both Florida Tech and Lynn on the same day. The Lions opened the season at home against the two foes in October and picked up their first two wins of the season and repeated the task again on Saturday. Saint Leo defeated the host Panthers 160-102, a nine-point improvement over the first match-up. The Lions took down Lynn 135-127 upping their advantage over the 128-124 season opening victory.

Junior Annie Lindstrom led the way Saturday with a pair of individual victories while also taking first in a relay. The Kristianstad, Sweden native opened the meet teaming up with senior Maftuna Tuhtasinova, sophomore Paulina Majszutowicz and senior Karina Kolb to take the win in the 200 medley relay.

Lindtsrom then went on to win both the 50 and 100 freestyle. She touched the wall in 23.87 to win the 50 and was followed closely by Kolb who touched second in 25.02 to give the Lions a one-two finish. Lindstrom then won the 100 in 52.22 to account for three of the Lions five victories on the day.

Freshman Vittoria Bonsanti Feniello made her Lion debut and won her very first event in the 200 freestyle as she bested the field in 1:56.20. The only other individual victory came from Majszutowicz who won the 200 breaststroke in 2:24.25.

The Lions will be back in action this Friday, February 1 at 3 p.m. as they host Rollins in the regular season finale. The Lions will honor their four seniors prior to the start of the meet.
