Men's Golf Earns 18Birdies Team Academic Honor

NORMAN, Okla. – The Saint Leo University men's golf team was awarded the 18Birdies President's Special Recognition honor, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Friday, July 20 for carrying a 3.5 or better GPA during the 2017-18 season.
 
The Lions were one of 40 Division II teams honored with the All-Academic Team honors, while the Green and Gold were one of nine teams to earn the President's Special Recognition with a 3.5 or better GPA.
 
Saint Leo was joined by Barry, Florida Tech and Rollins as the four Sunshine State Conference institutions to earn the 18Birdies All-Academic Team honor.  
 
To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a team must have a combined cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. The President's Special Recognition award is for the teams with a GPA of 3.5 or better. The teams must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
