SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo beach volleyball team wrapped up play Saturday at the Saint Leo Invitational with two setbacks against Florida Southern, 3-2, and Jacksonville, 3-2.
 
Four pairs, Paloma Da Silva and Britt Sederholm, Annabella Arcari and Allie Daul, Jenya Kruglova and Anna Garrett, and Nina Vattovaz and Reggie Van Devender, all logged a point for the Lions (1-5) during the final day of play at the Saint Leo Invitational.
 
Florida Southern 3, Saint Leo 2
1. Anna Tovo/Allie Geary (FSC) def. Jenya Kruglova/Anna Garrett (SLBVB) 21-18, 24-22
2. Sydney Marshall/Makena Wilson (FSC) def. Jamee Townsend/Brooke Turner (SLBVB) 21-12, 22-24, 15-13
3. Lauren Kenny/Kayla Trefren (FSC) def. Nina Vattovaz/Reggie Van Devender (SLBVB) 16-21, 21-18, 23-21
4. Paloma Da Silva/Britt Sederholm (SLBVB) def. Courtney Charneco/Katie Bergeron (FSC) 21-9, 21-16
5. Annabella Arcari/Allie Daul (SLBVB) def. Katie Lowe/Kaitlin Umberhandt (FSC) 21-11, 21-14
 
The Lions took a quick 2-0 lead over the Moccasins where Annabella Arcari and Allie Daul won the no. 5 matchup 21-11, 21-14 to make it 1-0 Saint Leo. Paloma Da Silva and Britt Sederholm made it 2-0 with a 2-0 sweep at no. 4, 21-9, 21-16.
 
Florida Southern won its first point at no. 1 where Jenya Kruglova and Anna Garrett fell, 21-18, 24-22.
 
At no. 2, Jamee Townsend and Brooke Turner battled back in set two to tie things at 1-1. Townsend and Turner dropped the first 21-12 before getting a rhythm and fighting to a 24-22 win in the second. A close third finished saw the Mocs win 15-13, taking no. 2's 2-1 and tying things in the match at 2-2.
 
Nina Vattovaz and Reggie Van Devender dropped the first set, 21-16 before taking the second 21-18. Vattovaz and Van Devender fell in the third, which was to 15, 23-21 after back and forth action.

3. Nina Vattovaz/Reggie Van Devender (SLBVB) def. Lauren Petersen/Mallory Mattingly (JU) 21-14, 21-15
4. Shaylee Befus/Hannah Marchand (JU) def. Paloma Da Silva/Britt Sederholm (SLBVB) 22-20, 21-19
5. Shelby Babowicz/Bethany Salapek (JU) def. Annabella Arcari/Allie Daul (SLBVB) 21-17, 21-14
 
Jenya Kruglova and Anna Garrett gave the Lions a point at the no. 1's with a 21-18, 18-21, 15-7 match. Nina Vattovaz and Reggie Van Devender won no. 3 to give the Lions their second point 21-14, 21-15.

The Dolphins won the no. 2 (21-19, 21-11), no. 4 (22-20, 21-19) and no. 5 (21-17, 21-14).
