Men's tennis falls to DI Valparaiso

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's tennis team fell to Division I foe Valparaiso, 5-2, in midweek competition at the Saint Leo tennis center.

Saint Leo went 1-2 at doubles with the double duo of Oskar Nurmio and Francisco Aparicio earning the one win for the Lions, 6-2.

The match was played with DI rules, and the double matches only counted as one point for the match, and that point went to Valpo.

Vincent Suillerot and Jaime Bueno scored the two point for the Lions, claiming the No. 2 and No. 3 flights.

Suillerot won 6-3, 6-2 over Dave Bacalla at No. 2, and Bueno won a battle at No. 3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.

Saint Leo returns to action on Friday, March 10 for a 3 p.m. match with Grand Valley State.
