SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's tennis team topped visiting Grand Valley State, 6-3, in non-conference action on Friday evening at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.

Saint Leo rebounded from a 2-1 deficit after doubles as the Lions were only able to claim flight No. 2 with the pair of Kristyna Jurkova and Madeleine Gauthier, who won 8-6.

The Lions were able to win the match by taking flights No. 1-5. Marine Beugre-Guyot claimed No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

Maja Pindelska added a win at No. 2 flight with a 6-1, 6-2 win, while Jurkova added a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles. Fabiola Cardenas and Gauthier also added wins. Cardenas won No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0, while Gauthier claimed No. 5, 6-1, 6-3.

The Lakers added their third point with a Flight No. 3 win.

Saint Leo returns to action on Monday, March 13 with a 3 p.m. match versus Dallas Baptist at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.
