SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's tennis team took down Grand Valley State, 6-3, in non-conference action on Friday afternoon at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.

Saint Leo claimed two points after winning both No. 2 and 3 doubles. Francisco Aparicio and Oskar Nurmio teamed up to earn the Lions their first point at No. 2 flight, with an 8-2 win. Jaime Bueno teamed with Charles Benet for a 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles.

Bueno claimed another point for the Lions as he won No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Benet also added a second point with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 5.

The Lions also claimed their No. 1 and 2 flight points. Thomas Grinberg claimed No. 1 singles with 6-1, 6-2 win, and Vincent Suillerot claimed No. 2 with a 6-2, 6-1 win.

GVSU was able to take two points with wins at No. 4 and 6 flights.

Saint Leo returns to action on Thursday, March 16 with a 10:30 a.m. match as they host St. Mary's out of Texas.
