DAYTONA, Fla. – The No. 3 Saint Leo women's tennis team took down Embry-Riddle, 5-2, in the shortened mid-week match on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lions opened the day with a 3-0 lead after doubles. Marine Beugre-Guyot and Pauline Helgesson took down the No. 2 doubles from ERAU, 8-3. Isabella Robbiani and Anastasia Wagner added an 8-6 win at No. 1 singles, and Madeleine Gauthier and Katherine Zaatini took home a point at No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
In singles play, it was Gauthier whose win sealed the match for the Lions, as she took the win in the No. 5 singles slot, 6-4, 6-1.
Beugre-Guyot snagged the first singles win, earning a 6-4, 6-0 take down at No. 2.
The Eagles got their first point on a win at No. 6 singles, and added their second on a 0-6, 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles.
The Lions return to action on Saturday, April 23 for Senior Day versus Palm Beach Atlantic at 1 p.m.
