MELBOURNE, Fla. – The No. 3 Saint Leo women's tennis team took down Florida Tech, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon, moving to 17-1, 7-0 in the Sunshine State Conference.
The Lions entered singles play with a 2-1 record, and it was a win by Marine Beugre-Guyot at No. 3 singles that sealed the day for Saint Leo. Beugre-Guyot took her match 6-1, 6-1.
Anastasia Wagner was the first to give the Lions a singles point, earning a 6-2, 6-0 win. Natalia Siedliska followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.
Isabella Robbiani added a point with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles, while Pauline Helgesson won the No. 6 singles match, 6-1, 6-0. FIT took their second point at No. 5 singles.
In doubles action, Wagner and Siedliska teamed up for an 8-3 win, while Helgesson and Beugre-Guyot added another point with an 8-6 win. FIT earned their first point of the day at No. 2 doubles.
The Lions head to No. 7 Nova Southeastern on Sunday, April 17 for a 10 a.m. match.
