SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Saint leo University softball team reamins at No. 4 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Divsion II Top-25 Coaches' Poll announced Wednesday, April 13th, following a 3-0 weekend at the University of Tampa.
The Lions, who sit at 35-1, 18-1 Sunshine State Conference, swept Tampa 4-0 // 5-0 // 4-1 (8 innings) on the weekend to improve to the 34-1 before taking the first game from Florida Tech on Tuesday, April 12th 5-1.
The top-four of the NFCA poll stayed the same as Indianapolis remained the No. 1 team with a 38-1 record. The Greyhounds received 396 points and 12 first place votes. Receiving the final four first place votes, West Texas A&M remains No. 2 with a 44-2 record and 388 points. Humboldt State stays at three with a 35-3-1 record and 361 points where the Saint Leo holds strong at No. 4 with 345 points. Rounding out the top-5 is North Alabama. The Lions of North Alabama were No. 6 last week and moved up to number five with a 40-5 record and had 329 points.
Joining Saint Leo in the top-25 from the SSC is Rollins. Rollins enters the top-25 after not being ranked and just receiving votes. The Tars climb into No. 17 with a 32-7-1 record and had 132 points.
Saint Leo contniues their homestand against Florida Tech (36-13, 14-5 SSC) today, Wednesday, April 13th, at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at University Softball Stadium.
