#2 Lions sweep Florida Southern

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 2 Saint Leo men's tennis took down Florida Southern, 9-0, on Wednesday afternoon, moving to 17-1, 5-0 in Sunshine State Conference action.

The Lions opened up action with a 3-0 lead after doubles play.

Egor Panyushkin and Jaime Bueno took down Miguel Alvarez-Havia, 8-4. The Lions added wins in No. 1 and 3 doubles as well, both by the score of 8-6.

Alex Theiler opened up singles play with a 6-2, 6-1 win for the Lions. Guillaume Vanelven added the fifth and deciding point with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles.

Alberto Barroso-Campos tacked on the sixth point with a 6-2, 6-2 win. Francisco Aparicio added on a 6-2, 6-0 win, while Bueno won 6-0, 7-5, at the No. 3 singles spot.

Elliot Carnello wrapped up the match with a 6-2, 6-0, win.

The Lions head to Florida Tech on Friday for a 2 p.m. match.
