SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's tennis team moved to 6-1 on the season after taking down visiting Ferris State, 9-0, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Lions were guided by a 3-0 start in doubles play as Coralie Pesenti and Madeleine Gauthier teamed up to take down the Bulldogs' Olga Martinsone and Nicole Meylor, 8-1. Natalia Siedliska and Anastasia Wagner followed with an 8-1 win in the No. 1 doubles spot, while Isabella Robbiani and Katherine Zaatini won 8-4 at the No. 3 spot.
In singles action, Marine Beugre-Guyot dominated Maylor, 6-1, 6-2. Siedliska sealed the win for the Lions with a win over Shawnee-Ann Brelsford, 6-1, 6-1.
Pesenti earned a point, taking down Arien Kissinger, 6-1, 6-2, while Pauline Helgesson took the No. 5 singles spot with a 6-0, 6-1. Robbiani added a 6-2,6-0 win, and Gauthier finished things off for the Lions, earning an 8-2 win.
The Lions take on Northeastern State on Sunday, March 13 at 11 AM.
