DENVER, Colo. – The Saint Leo women's tennis team wrapped up their trip to Denver with a win over No. 22 Midwestern State, taking the match, 7-2.
The Lions swept doubles play, claiming each match by the score of 8-4. The pairing of Isabella Robbiani and Anastasia Wagner took the No. 1 match, while Natalia Siedliska and Coralie Pesenti took No. 2's and Marine Beugre-Guyot and Pauline Helgesson took the threes.
Wagner added another point, claiming the No. 2 singles in quick fashion, topping Greta Lazzarotto, 6-1, 6-2. Beugre-Guyot followed with a win in No. 3's, taking the point with a 6-3, 6-3 victory. Robbiani moved to the No. 1 position, and took a 6-3, 6-0 win.
Helgesson took out Lauren Pineda, 6-4, 6-2.
Midwestern State claimed its two points by taking the No. 5 and 6 spots.
The Lions return to action on March 25 with a 2 p.m. showdown with NYIT.
