DENVER, Colo. – In a battle of the unbeaten, the No. 7 Saint Leo men's tennis team fell to the No. 2 Hawaii Pacific Sharks, 7-1.
Saint Leo dropped three points in the doubles session and were unable to reclaim the point deficit in the singles action.
The Lions lone point came in the No. 2 singles as Alex Theiler topping Jaume Martinez-Vich, 7-6 (2), 6-2.
Freshman Alberto Barroso-Campos fell for the first time this season despite a valiant effort, coming from behind after falling in the opening set, 7-6 (5), winning the next 6-7 (2), before falling 6-3.
The duo of Barroso-Campos and Theiler also lost for the first time, barely falling to Thibaud Berland and Alexander Meyer, 9-8 (1).
The Lions return action on Sunday with No. 12 Midwestern State at 3 p.m.
