No. 3 Lions down No. 13 Georgia College in season opener

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 3 Saint Leo women's tennis team displayed a dominating performance against No. 13 Georgia College, bouncing back from a 1-2 deficit after doubles play, to sweep the singles matches, winning 7-2.

In the No. 4 singles spot, Marine Beugre-Guyot, who is nationally ranked No. 10, was the first to wrap up her match, taking down Emma Niemi, 6-0, 6-2.

In other singles action, Natalia Siedliska, the No. 3 singles player in the nation, took down Camille Clausse-Pujo, in quick fashion, 6-2, 6-1.

Following Siedliska, Anastasia Wagner topped Kristen Jones, 6-4, 6-3. Isabella Robbiani followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Macy Polk.

The Lions wrapped up the day with Pauline Helgesson defeating Cristalei Polk, 6-4, 6-1, while Coralie Pesenti topped Hannah Serdinia, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3.

In doubles play, the lone win came from the pairing of Siedliska and Wagner, who bested Clausse-Pujo and Kristen Jones, 8-5.

Saint Leo faces No. 21 Valdosta State on Sunday at 12 PM
