LAKELAND, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team fell at No. 24/23 Florida Southern 67-53 on Saturday evening. The Lions were led by Chelsy Springs who scored a career high 28 points in the contest.
Springs led both teams in scoring with her 28 and finished with seven boards. Mary Redmond was second on the team in scoring with 11 points. The Lions were 2-14 from beyond the arc and finished at 20-of-61 from the field.
The Mocs saw three players score in double-digits as Mariah Harris led the team with 18 points. Coming off the bench for Florida Southern and scoring double-digits were Sydni Payne, 12 points, and Bailey Florin, 16 points. Florida Southern shot 4-20 from three-point land and 25-63 from the field.
Both teams went to the line 15 times as Saint Leo converted 11 of those as Florida Southern made 13.

- Chelsy Springs records career high 28 points in the loss. Springs' previous career high was 27 points, scored against then #4 Nova Southeastern on November 21st. She has score in double-digits in 19 games this season, with eight straight now. Springs has seven career 20-point games after the loss at Fla. Southern.

- Harris pulled in game high eight rebounds as Anja Fuchs-Robetin and Florin followed with seven a piece.
- The Mocs out-rebounded the Lions 48-34 and held the slight edge of points scored off of turnovers, 21-20.
