TAMPA, Fla. – Izabell Skoogh connected on a career-best seven three point field goals and finished the game with a career- high 24 points, but it was not enough as the Saint Leo women's basketball team fell 76-56 against University of Tampa on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans countered Skoogh's three-point shooting with their own long range bombs, connecting 11 on 61-percent shooting from behind the arc as a team.
Chelsy Springs aided Skoogh in the offensive effort, adding 13 points, a team-high six rebounds and a team-high four assists.

1Q | Both teams played even through the first quarter, with the Lions leading for a majority of the first half of the period. Tampa started hitting shots from deep, taking a lead through end of the first. The Lions and the Spartans each scored eight points in the paint and they each registered four points off turnovers. 2Q | Tampa inflated their lead to 16 points before the Lions hit their first shot of the second quarter when Izabell Skoogh connected from long range at the six minute mark. The Spartans hit five three's in the second half, spreading the Lions defense out. However, Tampa only recorded four points in the paint. For the Spartans
- The Spartans were led by Juliana Cavallaro who had 19 points, Ellen Nurmi added 13 and a team-high nine assists. Elena de Alfredo added 11.
- Tampa averages just 36.3-percent shooting from deep, which was doubled versus the Lions as they hit 61-percent.
- The hosts also used a 26-18 point in the paint differential to add to their lead.
