BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Saint Leo men's soccer team took down No. 1 Lynn University, 3-1, on Saturday evening in the midst of two lightning delay in Boca Raton. The Lions found success from its underclassmen, as two freshmen recorded their first career goals.

27' | Maximilian Schulze-Geisthovel (Jr., F, Drensteinfurt, Germany) opened up scoring for the game. Bafou Sanogo (Jr., F, Paris, France) dished a pass that split the defenders, Schulze-Geisthovel sunk the ball in to the corner of the left post. |SLU 1-0|
46' | Fresh off of half time, just 20 seconds into the half, Yuga Yanagisawa took advantage of a poor clearance from the Lynn defense, and put the ball in the upper right hand corner. |SLU 2-0|
78' | A Saint Leo foul gave the LU Fighting Knights an opportunity in the form of a penalty shot. LU's Chris Hellman stepped up and converted the PK. |SLU 2-1|
89' | In the waning minutes of the game, Lynn pulled up all 10 field players for a corner kick in an effort to convert to even the score. However, a misplay situation gave Pascal Derwaritsch (Fr., MF, Altlussheim, Germany) the ball.
