Lions baseball on road for final regular season series

SAINT LEO, Fla.- On this final day of April, 2015, the Saint Leo baseball team travels to West Palm Beach to take on future Sunshine State Conference member Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish in a three game series in their final regular season matchup of the year.

The Lions enter their final road contest 33-13 overall with an impressive 13-3 away record this season while future conference foe P.B.A sports an even 22-22 overall record with a 15-14 mark at home. The Sailfish are coming off a 1-3 home-stand dropping a series 1-2 to Florida Tech and a midweek matchup loss to Lynn. The Green and Gold took one of three at Tampa last weekend in their final conference bout of the season.

Over the weekend sophomore Dylan Harris went 9-for-16 against a tough Tampa squad to push his batting average to a team leading .400. The third baseman from Land O' Lakes, Florida also has scored a team high 53 runs this season and leads all Leo baserunners with nine stolen bases. Harris will be playing with the Wareham Gatemen in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League over the summer before returning to the Lions next Fall.

Leading the charge for the Sailfish is redshirt senior second baseman Brian Walker. Walker is batting .430 with 32 runs scored, 29 RBI, and 25 stolen bases.

Game one begins this evening with first pitch slated for 6:00 p.m.  The series will conclude with a doubleheader tomorrow, Friday, May 1 beginning at noon.
