SAINT LEO, Fla. -- Saint Leo University men's soccer junior Matthias Katerna has been named to the Academic All-District men's soccer team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The sports business major is one of eight Sunshine State Conference student-athletes named to the 11-man All-District squad.

Katerna is second in points (20), goals (8), and assists (4) for the Lions, and has helped Saint Leo mount a come-back swing to the season, having gone 5-1 over the last six matches. His eight goals so far this season is a single-season high for his career.

The native of Oberasbach, Germany has accumulated 13 goals in his career as a Lion, and four assists. He was named to the 2014 SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll as well.

Saint Leo has two regular season matches remaining, hosting both Eckerd on Oct. 29, 7 p.m., and Barry on Oct. 31, 7 p.m., to conclude SSC play and decide the line-up for the SSC Tournament over Nov. 3-6.

First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
