SAINT LEO, Fla. – In straight-set fashion, the Saint Leo University volleyball team coasted to a 3-0 win over Webber International University, Tuesday night.  The Lions improve to 12-7 on the season while the visiting Lady Warriors dip to 9-13.

Sophomore Hope Lemon led the squad with eight kills and a pair of aces in the sweep while senior Alexa Griffith-Hardy grounded seven kills.  Freshman Britt Sederholm terminated five balls to the tune of a .400 attack clip against WIU.

Setting tandem Ashlee Hodgskin and Rachel Olliff paced the Lions offense with 16 and 15 assists, respectively.  The defensive rhythm was once again led by Yaidimar Santiago, as the repeat Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week totaled 14 digs.  Lemon contributed 10 while team blocked 10 Lady Warrior attacks.

The Lions took a 25-20 premier set behind a defensive clinic put on by middle blocker Jillian Stolzenburg. The junior stopped four attacks at the net while also terminating a pair of kills. 

Saint Leo rolled to a dominating 25-15 second set, rallying behind Griffith-Hardy and senior Tawni Warren.  The duo grounded three kills apiece as Santiago picked up three digs and served up a pair of aces in the second stanza.

The Green and Gold completed the sweep with a familiar 25-15 showing. Outside hitters Lemon and Sederholm peppered a barrage of four and three kills, respectively.  Griffith-Hardy blasted three to her credit as the Lions finished with a quick win.

Saint Leo heads to the FSC/South Region Crossover tournament to face regional opponents No. 22 West Florida, North Alabama, Valdosta State and Lee from the Gulf South Conference.  The first match will be played by the No. 22 team in the nation, the West Florida Argonauts on Friday at 10 a.m.  Live stats will be made available through www.saintleolions.com.
