Lions' Offense Explodes for 16-4 Win against Eckerd

SAINT LEO, Fla.—The Lions extended their winning streak to five games after its offense erupted tonight against the Tritons for a 16-4 win. Saint Leo (6-2) put up a 10-spot in the third inning to cruise to the win over Eckerd (3-2).

Bobby Twitty, Michael Revell, Dillon Vitale, Kory Wan, and Blake Turner all registered two hits in part of the Lions' 15-hit night. Revell and Frank Rawdow both collected three RBI while Wan and Twitty both tallied three runs scored on the evening.

Eckerd held a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the third but that's when the Lions' offense exploded for 10 runs to take control of the game. The inning got started with Twitty and Taed Moses getting back to back hits with Twitty eventually being brought home on a groundball from Ryan Brnovich. Moses came home for the second run of the inning on a sacrifice fly from Taylor Perez—and then the two-out rally began. With the bases loaded Rawdow tripled to centerfield to bring home three runs, and then once the bases were loaded again, Revell doubled to centerfield to bring home three more runs.

The Lions would rally once again in the bottom of the eighth with Nick Gill getting a base hit up the middle that brought home Turner, Wan, and Twitty.

Austin Buck threw a solid three innings for the Lions while allowing just two runs and striking out four. Michael Dunnigan, Brandon Mumaw, Chris Williams, and Henry Johnson all participated in the Lions' bullpen effort which allowed just two runs over the course of the remaining six innings.

Dunnigan's two innings of work were enough for him to collect the first win of his collegiate career.

The Lions hit the road on Friday as they head to West Alabama. First pitch for Saturday's contest is set for 1:00 p.m.
