No.17 Women's Tennis Repels Bentley, 7-2

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No.17-ranked Saint Leo women's tennis team (10-4) secured its 10th win of the season as they conquered Bentley University, 7-2, Friday evening from the Saint Leo Tennis Center in non-region action.

The Lions collected a pair of wins on the doubles side, before downing the Falcons in five-of-six singles outings.

Winners of five of their last six matches, the Lions used a pair of shutouts on the doubles side to give the home team the advantage. Emily Singleton and Maria Benkirane teamed to down Paulina Sotomayor and Rachael Litton, 8-0. Meanwhile, Jeanette McDonald and Adrianna Daszkiewicz ousted Kara Murphy and Melanie Scott, 8-0, at No.2 flight.

On the singles side, the Lions commanded from the onset as the Lions surrendered only two points over the first four matches, including a pair of consecutive set shutouts by Daszkiewicz and McDonald at the No.2 and No.3 spots.

The women will return to action on Saturday, March 17, when they host non-region opponent Indianapolis. First serve is set for 11 a.m. from the Saint Leo Tennis Center.
