Men's Tennis Ousts St. Thomas, 9-0

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's tennis team (4-2) defeated the St. Thomas Bobcats, 9-0, Sunday morning in non-regional action.

Rebounding nicely from a defeat on Saturday, the Lions made quick work of the Bobcats as they swept through both doubles and singles competition.

The Lions No.3 doubles team of Aloua Adjenak and Jake Fleischer put up the most impressive doubles performance of the day as they downed their opponents, 8-0.

Saint Leo wasted no time in putting the match away as they banished the Bobcats in six consecutive set wins. Matt Nicholson-Lewis was victorious, 6-0, 6-2, while Jacobo Gonzalez-Tarrio and Fleischer blanked their opponents, 6-0, 6-0, respectively.

"It was good to see the guys respond the way they did today," said head coach James Bryce. "We have to remain focused as we take on a talented Florida Tech squad on the road."

The Lions will travel to Melbourne, Fla. on Friday, February 24, when they tangle with the Florida Tech Panthers in Sunshine State Conference duel. The match is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.
