SAINT LEO, Fla. – Coming off a defensive gem against one of the highest scoring team's in the Sunshine State Conference, the Saint Leo women's basketball team looks to snap a long –time losing streak to incoming No.11-ranked           Rollins College Tars, Saturday afternoon from the Marion Bowman Activities Center. Tip-off for SSC slate is set for 2 p.m.
The Lions come into today's contest with only one double-digit scorer, but are doing their defensively as they are holding opponents to just 58.1 points-per-game, fourth in the SSC. The Tars, on the other hand, have been consistent from the opening tip of the season as they the fourth-highest scoring team in the SSC and the top-ranked defense. The game is also going to be a battle of the boards as each squad ranks in the top three in the SSC.
Offensively for the Lions, Chelsea Williams is averaging 12.5 points-per-game, while Chelsea Connelly is posting a team-best 8.2 rebounds-per-game. Rollins resembles the young Lions squad as they to only have one double-digit scorer in Ashley Jones at 11.2 points-per-game. Defensively, however, the Tars have done a tremendous job defensively forcing opponents into 285 turnovers.
Saint Leo enters today's game with a 6-8 record, including a 0-4 mark in the SSC, while Rollins sports a 12-1 record and a 4-0 record in conference. The Tars lone loss came at the hands of Clayton State.
