FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Saint Leo volleyball team has once again loaded up as they have traveled to south Florida where they face their first Sunshine State Conference competition of 2011.  Tonight the Lions walk into the NSU Arena at the Don Taft University Center to face Nova Southeastern tonight at 7:00 p.m.

Coming off an 11-hour trip to Florence, Ala. the Lions bring a 4-3 overall record into the match as they have picked up some confidence after a hard-fought five-setter against North Alabama and a dominating 3-1 win over Queens (NC).  It proved to be a nice response from a Friday match against Christian Brothers where the Green and Gold struggled in the 3-0 defeat.

Nova Southeastern, also having played in Florence, is coming off a 2-2 weekend at the North Alabama Classic heading into the match with the Lions. NSU toppled a previously undefeated Harding team in five sets to open the tournament Thursday night. The Sharks struggled offensively on Friday, dropping matches to Christian Brothers and North Alabama before getting back on track with a 3-1 win over Queens Saturday.
