While on its six-game road trek, Saint Leo went 3-3 while Kristen Kelly caught fire in the circle. Over the last six games, the Valrico, Fla. native is a perfect 3-0 with 0.67 ERA. She now stands at 8-3 on the season. Jaime Walker has also provided great relief, tossing scoreless innings in her last three appearances. Brittany Yates and Sarah Boyd lead the Lions offensively as they are sporting .400 batting averages over their last six games. The normal hot-hitting Lions have had some set-backs over the last two weeks as they are hitting .226 over the stretch while being outscored, 24-15.

The Tars (42-2) enter tonight’s series sporting the best overall record in the SSC at 19-1. They are ranked fifth in the latest NFCA Top-25 Poll and second in the south region. Three pitchers have collected 10 or more wins as they are led by Hope Blitzer’s 16-0 mark. The trio has collected 342 strikeouts and surrendered a minuscule 38 runs in 44 games. Offensively, the team is led by Christine Roser’s .459 batting average. The Tars, who are batting .350 as a club, rank in the top three of nearly offensive category in the conference. The Lions have dropped five of their last six to the Tars with Saint Leo’s last series victory over coming during the 2007-08 season.
