SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo softball team will take to the road one final time during the regular season as they travel to Melbourne, Fla. to take on the Florida Tech Panthers in a three-game Sunshine State Conference series beginning this afternoon.
The Lions are 4-2 against the Panthers the last two seasons, including a season sweep last year.
The Panthers enter their senior weekend home stand at 22-20 overall and 7-11 in the Sunshine State Conference. Immediately following a season-high seven-game winning streak, the Panthers are now in the middle of a five game losing streak, having been swept by Rollins and losing two-of-three from Lynn.
Saint Leo, on the other hand, comes into the contest sporting a 21-24 record and a 5-10 conference mark. The Lions are 2-3 over their last five conference games, picking up key wins over Tampa and Nova Southeastern.
