DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Saint Leo women’s golf team shot a first-round-332 as they find themselves tied for sixth place after the first day of competition in the Lady Falcon Invitational hosted by Daytona State College and played at the LPGA International Golf Club.
Freshman Heather Petronis led Saint Leo in the first round as she carded an 80 in the opening 18, placing her 17th overall. Senior Jordan Hatch followed with an 81 and sits in 19th.
On a tough day at the course for all competitors, where just two finished at, or below par, junior Goeun Lee sits third on the team and 31st overall while senior Kristina Carvalho is in the 43rd position.
Senior Suzanne Ervin rounded out the Lions’ lineup in 57th position as the Lions look to make a move in day two, 32-strokes behind tournament-leading Daytona State College.
