WINTER PARK, Fla. - Eighth-ranked Rollins managed a shutout as they defeated the Saint Leo men's tennis team 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon in Sunshine State Conference action.
Rollins (14-8, 3-3 SSC) proved their ranked as they pushed past SLU (3-17, 0-5 SSC) in doubles and surrendered just four combined games in singles.
In the No. 1 doubles match, eighth-ranked Jeff Morris and Neil Clausen defeated Jose Morales and Yves Jacobs 8-2 while 23rd-ranked Pablo Seijo and Nick Rowlands teamed to down Pablo Chavez and Richard Maclachlan 8-1 in the No. 2 match. Girts Dzelde and Constantin Sturdza took the No. 3 match for the Tars, defeating Michael Calloway and Jeffrey Hanrahan 8-2.
In singles, eighth-ranked Morris took Chavez 6-0, 6-1 in the top flight match with 34th-ranked Clausen downing Morales by the same score at No. 2. Arturo Baravalle over Calloway at No. 3.
