SAINT LEO, Fla. – In one of their more closely contested matches of the 2010 season, the Saint Leo men’s tennis team fell to visiting Bentley University 5-4 in action at the SLU Tennis Center on Wednesday evening.
The Lions found themselves in a hole after doubles action concluded as only the tandem of Pablo Chavez and Richard Maclachlan pulled out the No. 2 doubles win.
With SLU picking up wins at Nos. 2, 3 and 4 singles, the Lions needed just one more win to come from the remaining three spots for the match win. The visiting Falcons managed to come through in the clutch as the cemented the match when they claimed a win at No. 1 singles.
Heading into their Spring Break, the Lions will have two week before they get a chance to rebound in a non-conference match against Rollins on March 24th.
