SAINT LEO, Fla. – The NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Committee has released the Division II men's soccer south region poll. The list revealed the Saint Leo men’s soccer team sitting in third-place with an in-region record of 4-2-0, trailing only Rollins and Barry. In addition, the Lions also improved five spots in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) top-25 poll and are now positioned at No. 16.
The NCAA region poll is the first of the 2010 season, with five additional polls scheduled over the next five weeks. Aside from Rollins, Barry, and Saint Leo; Lynn, West Florida, and Ouachita Baptist also appear on the six team list. The four top teams from each region will be selected to participate in the NCAA Tournament.
The final regular-season poll will be published November 2 and championship selections will take place November 8. Finals selections will be announced at 7 p.m. eastern time, Monday, November 8 via a webcast selection show on NCAA.com.
Furthermore, the Lions improved five spots from last week’s No. 21 ranking. Saint Leo also secured a spot in the latest NSCAA/HendrickCars.com regional poll with the No. 2
