WOMEN’S TENNIS FALLS 9-0 TO NO. 9 ROLLINS ON THE ROAD

WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Saint Leo women’s tennis team fell for the second time this season to Rollins College as the ninth-ranked Tars handed the Lions a 9-0 setback on Thursday evening.

Rollins improves to 15-2 overall and 4-2 in the Sunshine State Conference and completes the season sweep over Saint Leo as they defeated the Lions 8-1 on February 17. The Lions fall to 7-9, 1-3 on the year.

After falling behind 3-0 at the conclusion of doubles, the Lions’ best chance at a singles victory came at the No. 3 spot with Jeanette McDonald splitting the first two sets with Stefaniya Tkach, but Tkach came back in the third set to get the 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 win and claim the Tars’ sweep.

The Lions return home to face Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday.  The match is set to get started at 3:00 p.m. at the SLU Tennis Complex on the Saint Leo University campus.
