Saint Leo, Fla. (February 16, 2008) – The Saint Leo men’s tennis team (0-4, 0-2 SSC) was swept by the Barry University Buccaneers (1-0, 1-0 SSC) Saturday afternoon at the Saint Leo Tennis Complex by the score of 9-0. 

In doubles action, the duo of Michael DelPriore (Sr., Englewood, Fla.) and Diego Timoteo (So., Brazil) gave the Lions the their best shot at victory. Still, the strong play from the pair came up just short falling 8-6.

In singles action, Timoteo once again led the Lions to a potential victory. After falling in the first set 4-6, Timoteo fought back to tie the match with a masterful performance in the second set winning 6-4. In the extra set, Timoteo came up just short of giving the Lions their first point of the day as he fell 10-5 in the third and final set.
