LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The Saint Leo University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Walt Disney World Invitational Saturday morning in Kissimmee, Fla. at the Wide World of Sports Complex.  38 men’s teams competed on the 8K course, with the men placing 27th.  On the women’s side, Saint Leo finished 33rd out of 44 total teams, while running on the 5K course.

For the fourth consecutive race, men’s runner Javier Buezeville finished as the Lions top individual competitor, placing 28th out of 324 runners with a time of 26:25.30. He completed the race just a minute and a half off the pace. Matt Attal was the next Lion to finish placing 176th with a time of 29:35.70. Michael Berry cracked the top 200 with a total time of 30:22.50

The combined time for the men’s squad was 2:29:29.70

Freshman standout Kelsey Bradley led the women to a 33rd place result, while placing as the Lions top individual finisher. She crossed the line 135th out of 353 runners with a time 20:45.10. Her time was just over three minute off the first-place pace. Alison Luthman was the next women to finish, crossing the tape with a time of 22:27.70. Dana Graham was just a few steps behind her teammate with a time of 22:36.20.

The women totaled a time of 1:52:05.30 on the morning.

The Lions teams now await the Sunshine State Conference Championships on Saturday, October 25.  The event is being hosted by the University of Tampa and will be run at Valrico Trails in Tampa, Fla.  Runners will take their mark at 7:15 a.m.
