Tampa, Fla. – The Saint Leo men’s cross country team finished seventh out of eleven teams competing in the UT Early Bird Classic Friday morning at Brandon Trails in Tampa, Fla. The men finished with a team total of 216 points.

Javier Beuzeville (So., Tampa, Fla.) was the top 8K finisher for the Lions on the course Friday, clocking in with the eight best overall individual time at 22:05.00, just one minute over the overall individual winner (21:03.00). Mike Berry (Fr., North Palm Beach, Fla.) also ran a respectable time, finishing at 24:39.00 finishing in the 52nd spot out of 101 places. Matt Attal (So., Tampa, Fla.) also ran an impressive individual time clocking in at 25:05.00

In his first collegiate race, Carson Holton (Fr., Tampa, Fla.) ran 25:44.00 and Travis VanBuren (So., Dade City, Fla.) finished just behind Holton with a time of 26:09.00.

Nova Southeastern took home the Classic title, finishing with 56 points, one point ahead of Florida Southern.

The men hit the course again September 13 in Melbourne, Fla. against Florida Tech. The gun scheduled to go off at 7:30 a.m.
