Rampf sets record in women's XC win at UF Mountain Dew Inv.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Junior Colett Rampf led three Saint Leo runners to finish among the top ten in points, as the Lions seized first place among non-Division I programs at Saturday's University of Florida Mountain Dew Invitational at UF's Mark Bostick Golf Course.

Rampf clocked a time of 17:32.04 on the 5K challenging and slick UF course, setting a new Saint Leo record on a true 5K course.

Alyssa Bayliff crossed the line in 18:29.74 to finish second in both points and the order of finish. Laura Tobin finished in 18:58.15 and was 12th overall, eighth in points.

Lauren Csubak was 23th overall, 16th in points, with a time of 19:33.66, while Natalie McCormick capped Saint Leo's scoring runners with a time of 19:57.57, 28th overall and 20th on points.

Noemi Anaya (20:27.82, 44th/34 points) and Fatima Abu-Rumman (20:55.42, 55th/42 points) were the pushers for Saint Leo.

Other finishers for Saint Leo were Tiffany Gargiulo with a time of 21:34.87 (69th) and Heidi Churchill in 22:09.39 (85th).

Saint Leo dominated the race in the team scoring. The Lions tallied 47 points, while their nearest opponent in the non-DI scoring, the University of Tampa, had 101 points. Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) was third with 104 points.

Saint Leo returns to competition next Saturday, Oct. 1, when the Lions travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to compete in the Lehigh University Paul Short Run.
