Women's cross country holds on to #1, Men's stay at #5

SAINT LEO, Fla. – For the first time in program history, the Saint Leo women's cross country team held on to the top spot for consecutive weeks in this week's South Region in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional rankings.

Lee University (Tenn.) stayed at the No. 2 spot in the women's regional rankings, while Union (Tenn.), Tampa, and West Alabama rounded out the top five.

On the men's side, the Lions held onto its No. 5 position in the South Region ranking.

Lee (Tenn.) sits atop the South Region men's rankings, followed by Florida Southern, Alabama-Huntsville, Nova Southeastern, and Saint Leo.

The Lions, who had the week off from competition, will travel to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the UF Mountain Dew Invitational, on Saturday, Sept. 24.
