WINTER PARK, Fla. - Freshman Jelena Tancic has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week presented by VALIC.
Tancic was the top Division II finisher at the USF Invitational on Friday. The Erlangen, Germany native completed the 5K race in a time of 17:23.85 to finish second out of a field of 165 Division I and II runners. Her time set a new program record.

The Lions return to action on Saturday, September 14, when they take part in the Mountain Dew Invitational hosted by the University of Florida. Start time is slated for 8:30 a.m. at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
