Women's Cross Country Closes Black and Gold Invite in 15th
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's cross country team tallied 405 points en route to a 15th-place finish at the UCF Black and Gold Meet, Friday afternoon from the UCF Sports Complex.
Saint Leo's Andrea Maxwell collected team top honors as she closed the race in 59th-place at a time of 25:02.99.
Jacksonville's Joane Pierre took home individual honors as her time of 21:25.60 dusted the field of 151 runners at the 6K course. Overall, the University of North Florida grabbed the team championship as they finished with 49 points.
Senior Kelsey Bradley crossed the tape at 27.35.28, while Shelby Adams was just seconds off Bradley's pace at 28.11.08. Christine Hartley recorded a time 28.19.26 and Ashleigh Coad registered a closing mark of 29.11.57. Allison Knipp and Mariah Moss finished back-to-back in the standings, posting times of 29.48.83 and 29.53.79, respectively.
The Lions will resume action as the compete in the Sunshine State Conference Championships action. The meet is set to take place on Saturday, October 12, from the UCF Sports Complex at 8:15 a.m.
