Women's Cross Country Places 14th at UF Invite

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Saint Leo University women's cross country team finished 14th this weekend at the University of Florida Mountain Dew Invitational.

Finishing the race first for the Lions was senior runner Jillian Browne, who completed the 5K with a time of 19:54.15 and placed 57th overall. Following closely behind Browne and finishing less than a second off of her pace was teammate Andrea Maxwell, who finished in 77th place with a time of 20:21.92. 

The Lion's added to their strong finish when runners Kyle Fagan, Shelby Adams and Elyse Snyder all crossed the tape within seconds of each other with times of 21:02.99, 21:07.61, and 21:10.07, respectively. 

Saint Leo's Lee Ann Atuna also finished with a time of 21:32.27, with Christine Hartley, Kelsey Bradley, and Allison Knipe following closely behind as they wrapped up the race for the Lions.

The women will return to the course for their next race on Saturday, September 29, when they host their only home meet of the season. The race, which will take place at the Saint Leo Abbey Golf Course across from University campus, is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m.
