Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Continue to Garner Regional Votes

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Both the Saint Leo men' and women's cross country teams continued to garner regional recognition as both sides claimed the No.9 spot in this week's South Region poll, it was announced Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The men made a one spot jump as thy leaped Morehouse to lay claim to the No. 9 position. In their last outing, the Lions earned a 14th-place showing at Saturday's Mountain Dew Invitational.

Joining the Lions in the top-10 poll is Florida Tech (2), Florida Southern (4), Tampa (5), and Nova Southeastern (7).

On the women's side, Saint Leo also a ranking on ninth after a 13th-place finish at last Saturday's Mountain Dew Invitational.

Tampa owns the top spot in the region, while Nova Southeastern (2), Florida Southern (4), and Florida Tech (8) each join the Lions in the top-10 rankings.

Both Lions' teams will return to the course on Friday, September 30, when they head to Titusville, Fla. to compete in the flrunners.com meet.
