Griffith-Hardy Earns SSC Player of the Week Honor

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Saint Leo junior Alexa Griffith-Hardy was selected as the Sunshine State Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday afternoon from the Sunshine State Conference office.

The RS/OH from Windsor, Colo. had a career day against No. 3 Tampa to begin the week. The junior shattered her previous career-high 10 kills with an 18-kill performance and just two errors against the Spartans. Her .516 hitting percentage and three blocks helped push Tampa to the brink in a 3-2 five-set loss.

Against previously ranked Rollins, Griffith-Hardy recorded four service aces and four digs, while hitting .300 with seven kills and just one error in a 3-0 sweep of the Tars.

The Lions will return to action on Wednesday, October 9 when they travel to Eckerd College to take on the Eckerd Tritons in their fifth conference match of the year. The match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
