PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Saint Leo volleyball team could not pull off the upset as they dropped a 3-1 (25-19, 26-28, 25-19, 25-23) decision to host West Florida at the GSC/SSC Crossover on Friday night.

The Second set saw the Lions battle back from a five point deficit to knot things up at 18. UWF grabbed a brief lead at 24-23 but couldn't hold off a surging Saint Leo (8-10) team as the Green and Gold evened the match. UWF came out of the gates on fire in the third set, going up 14-7 over the Lions, pushing the SLU deficit to 20-13 before the final points leaned the match back in favor of West Florida.
The Argos again edged out to the early lead in set number four with UWF up as much as 18-11. The Lions didn't stay down for long however, as they crept back into the match with a Jordan Sisson kill that brought Saint Leo within one at 22-21. West Florida then capitalized on a pair of kills as the Argos took the set, 25-23.
