AS A JUNIOR (2009)
Calderon-Reyes concluded the season with numerous awards, being
named an AVCA South Region team member…NCAA All-South Region
Tournament Team… All-Sunshine State Conference First
Team…She was also recognized as SSC Player of the Week
(10/10/09) and Saint Leo University Athlete of the Week
(10/19/09)…On the season, Calderon-Reyes played in and
started all of the Lions 34 contests and participated in 116
games… She led the team and finished seventh in the SSC in
kills with 369 (3.18 k/s) and a .245 attack percentage…
Calderon-Reyes was third on the team in digs with 341, averaging
2.94 digs per set… She was tied for second on the team in
service aces with 32, and had a .888 serving percentage…
Calderon-Reyes finished the season second on the team in assists
with 55.
CAREER
In two years at Hillsborough Community College, Calderon-Reyes was
named first team all-conference and all-state during her freshman
and sophomore seasons…She was also named to the all-state
tournament team during both years…During her freshman
season, she was named to honorable mention All-America followed by
a first team All-America selection her sophomore season...She
concluded her college career by receiving the Top Hitter Award.
PERSONAL
She was born February 24 in Caguas, Puerto Rico…She is
majoring in Psychology…Her hobbies include having fun with
friends and family and watching television…Her career goals
are to obtain her PhD in Psychology and open her own
clinic…Believes her ability to give everything she has and
will to win are her best assets to the team…Her favorite
athlete is Picky Soto…She chose Saint Leo because it’s
a small school with great academics and tremendous
people…The daughter of Guillermo Calderon-Diaz and Carmen
Reyes-Del Valle…She has one brother, Guillermo and one
sister, Camille.
