Rampf and Bez shine at Mt. SAC Relays

TORRANCE, Calif. – Saint Leo junior Colett Rampf and senior Niclas Bez each posted new personal best times during events on Thursday at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays.

Rampf posted a time of 10:11.71 in the 3000m Steeplechase Elite Invitational race at Mt. SAC, shaving nearly six seconds off her previous personal best. She finished 11th out of 25 competitors in the race, which featured several participants from the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio and multiple past NCAA and NAIA national champions in the event.

Bez posted a new personal best time in the 1500m, clocking a time of 3:52.80 and finishing 30th overall. He eclipsed his previous P.R. of 3:56.35, set last season. Bez also ran in the 800m race, finishing 44th with a time of 1:57.28.

At the Asuza Pacific Byan Clay Invitational, senior Natalie McCormick and sophomore Laura Tobin ran in the women's 1500m, with Tobin posting a new personal best time. Tobin crossed in 5:00.10, eclipsing her previous best by over four seconds. McCormick finished in 4:59.75, her best time of the season but shy of a personal record.

Senior Josh Sickinger competed in the men's 1500m at the Bryan Clay Invitational, posting a time of 4:24.12.
